January, 2012
We want to thank you for your donations and support this past year. We value the work of our PMU. God’s provision for our family has been amazing. Your gifts are helping us to spread the gospel in this country. We are very committed and passionate to win souls for Jesus, and we are appealing to you to share the burden with us.
In November our church members were encouraged to invite visitors to our Sunday Services. We worked on our project, “Winning the Lost.” We gave a card to every person asking them to write down seven names of their family members or friends, and we started to pray for them. Then they worked to invite them to our church. I prepared to speak on evangelism. I challenged the church members to invite their friends. All the people who invited a new person to the church on December 25, received a gift. As of December 19, we are happy to say that five new souls were won to Jesus. Octavio Larea, Claudia Gonzales, Jose Cuevas, Enrique Duran, and Daniel Estrada, and two asked to pray for reconciliation with Jesus and forgiveness, Petronila and Yesenia. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will move in the hearts of those who will be saved.

On December 19, we took 34 of our Awana kids to El Alto city, approximately 45 minutes away from La Paz, to celebrate our annual Awana competition. I had the privilege to begin the competition with prayer. All the kids and their leaders participated. They had great spirit and energy. People were cheering louder and louder. There were no fights, just laughs, cheers, and celebration. It was great to see the leaders and kids from four different churches. Finally the team from “Dios es Amor” won the first place, and our Awana took second place. After the competition we shared 95 bags of popcorn which we had prepared.
We continue to broadcast our radio program, “Pastoral Reflection.” In every program we receive at least one phone call requesting prayer. We are helping and counseling people who do not know Jesus. Our audience continues to grow. We are online once a week, Fridays from 8:00 – 10:00 pm (EST Time) through the local radio station 105.7 FM stereo and the Reformed Bible Broadcasting.
Our internet server reported that our program with 24/7 streaming had listeners in 52 different countries in November and December, 2011, including the following: United States, Switzerland , Argentina, Spain, Brazil, Bolivia, Singapore, Mexico, Germany, Finland, Netherlands, Chile, Indonesia, Colombia, Guatemala, United Kingdom, South Korea, Sweden, Italy, Peru, Australia, China, Russian Federation, Japan, Malaysia, Costa Rica, Canada, Ecuador, Poland, Ukraine, Denmark, France, Philippines, Panama, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Israel, Bulgaria, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Romania, Fiji, Egypt, Turkey, Guadeloupe, Venezuela, Lithuania, Hungary, Dominican Republic, Algeria, Uruguay, and Jordan. Please continue to pray for this project. (www.rbbradio.com)
For this season we prepared a separate hymn book with Christmas hymns and carols (60 copies). On December 16, we had our “Musician’s Christmas Concert.” We had many visitors in our church, and the last 30 minutes, the concert was broadcasted by 105.7 FM for the cities of La Paz and El Alto.
On Sunday, December 18, we had our cantata and children’s program. (Our children were practicing many songs three times a week since the last week of November.) The drama of the Christmas story was represented for our children. I read the story of Joseph and Mary seeking a place for Mary to give birth to our Lord Jesus. The presentation was amazing. We had 124 in attendance, and we gave 120 gifts to the congregation; also toys were distributed to children. We really rejoice in commemorating the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. Two adults and five children accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Also we had our Christmas Eve candlelight service with songs, choral selections, and the Christmas message. May God touch the hearts of the visitors who attended. We thank each of you who kept us in prayer.

Thank you for taking time to read our prayer letter. We will still be praying for you.
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9

Greetings in Jesus’ mighty name this Christmas season. I thank the Lord for my family. Gloria is an excellent teacher for kids and ladies. As a missionary team my family has helped me teach the children in our Awana, VBS, and Sunday school. In our services David, Jr. plays the piano and Prisila the violin, leading the musicians in our church. At a school concert this year, they played hymns testifying about Jesus Christ. I praise the almighty God and thank Him for my wonderful wife and twins.
Christmas is a special time for all of us as we contemplate the love of God who has sent His only begotten Son into our world. We would like to remember all of our BPC Pastors, elders, deacons, brothers and sisters who have prayed and supported us in our mission work. You are in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless you richly during this Christmas season and prosper the year 2012. — Rev. David Quisbert (Gloria, David Jr, Prisila), PMU Missionaries to Bolivia

Welcoming and loving people is the first step to winning new members for the church. In church planting efforts adding new believing members is the goal. The membership candidate must complete a new member’s class. A BPC member must be able to defend his faith and to prove its correctness with the Bible. We praise the Lord because this year we have received ten new members. Four of them were baptized, and we had our spiritual banquet, the Lord’s Supper.
Grober and Alejandra were welcomed into our church membership. They are engaged and are preparing for marriage. Please pray for the wedding arrangements. The wedding date is January 21, 2012. God’s family at La Paz BPC continues to grow.
One of the greatest challenges as missionaries is to proclaim the gospel everywhere. We prayed asking God for opportunities to teach the gospel in the schools. God has answered our prayers. This year we had incredible opportunities to teach kids and teenagers. Many of them came to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. We ministered in three schools to almost 2,000 students, proclaiming Christ and handing out gospel tracts. Please pray for those who heard the word of God. May God bless the Christian teachers and educators. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the holy is understanding” Prov. 9:10
On October 20th I had the privilege to preach a sermon at the 463rd anniversary program celebrating the founding of La Paz. National officials were present, and the service went very well. Many tracts were also distributed by our church members. We greatly appreciate your prayers for us. — Rev. David Quisbert
Currently, the Quisberts’ account is very low and unable to sustain their work for the remainder of the year at current giving levels. Please remember this in your prayers. Monthly donations are needed to supply their on-going shortfall for 2012 as well. Thank you for remembering these needs in prayer.

“Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day His salvation. Declare His glory among the heathen; His marvellous works among all nations.” 1Chronicles 16:23-24Dear Brothers in Christ:
These last months have been very good. We want to thank you for your sustained support of our mission work in La Paz, Bolivia. We pray that the good Lord continues to reward and bless you. In this letter we are glad to share with you some areas of our ministry.
On August 6th we celebrated a new anniversary of Bolivia. While the official celebration was held in Sucre, I had the privilege of participating in the official local program led by the local governor. We had a public service in the “Murillo square” where I led in song and prayer. We shared gospel tracts with the leadership of La Paz. I gave thanks to the Lord once again because, in July, we participated in the official service with Bolivian authorities. Now in this opportunity we went with our elders, deacons and my wife Gloria. Thank you for your prayers.
Our Church had the privilege to receive six new church members on Sunday, August 14th. Our church is growing. Two new members also received the sacrament of baptism. We had a wonderful service and celebrated the Lord’s Supper with the congregation and the new members. We praise the Lord for the family of God.
One of the greatest needs of our church is manuals and guide books for our Sunday school classes. We wrote and printed 40 books. We know that these materials can help make our Sunday schools more effective and a blessing to our students. We continue writing more manuals and guide books.
In September we worked to increase our Awana attendance by visiting some parents of our clubbers. We were sad when we learned that Nicole and Ephaim are going to take their first communion in the Roman Catholic Church in December. Their parents are Roman Catholic and decided for their kids. Please pray for these kids.
On the other hand we thank the Lord because this month we had more kids in our Awana. Most of them are eager to learn the Bible stories and memory verses. We had many competitions and gave prizes and snacks to the kids. Please pray for us. We need adult volunteers, leaders and helpers.
One of my concerns in the ministry is having available Christian literature and gospel tracts. I have made contact with Bible and tract societies to get Christian literature at a low price. Two tract societies have sent five thousand gospel tracts, and we are waiting on tracts from the Free Tract Society.
Since last year we started to help in the Bolivian committee of the Trinitarian Bible Society to review the Spanish translation of the Bible (Reina Valera). In Spanish countries there are many committees. We finished reviewing the Gospel of John, and now it is ready. The General Secretary of the TBS of US (William Greendyk) came to Bolivia to meet with the committee. We asked for a printing of the Gospel of John and found out that they have received a donation to print the Gospel of John for free distribution in South America. We presented a project for printing and distribution. Please pray for us as we seek to share the Gospel of John throughout Bolivia and its neighboring countries.
We thank the Lord for our radio program, “Pastoral Reflection.” It brings the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Spanish people. The Bible teaches that there is an eternal hell and an eternal heaven. In order to inherit eternal life in heaven, one must repent and receive Jesus Christ into his or her life. We share this message. Listeners call by phone sharing their prayer requests. We praise the Lord for the opportunity to testify about the gospel each week. 24 hours, 7 days a week our English internet broadcasting is also available on: www.rbbradio.com
On September 23rd my wife, kids, and I went to help the homeless people who live in the area near our BPC. Our missionary work in La Paz has an impact by preaching the gospel to these people. We distributed 200 gospel tracts and ten copies of the Gospel of John.
We are now working with the immigrants from “North of Potosi.” The reality is these people are hungry for food and hungry to hear the Word of God. We prepared to explain God’s plan of Salvation because we know about the power of the gospel; it can change people. A spiritual conversion can break the culture of poverty. It’s sad to see many homeless moms with their kids and older adults living in poverty.
We shared the gospel and urged people to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Many repented and asked for prayer. That morning we shared fresh bread with a cup of milk. Please pray for those people who are living in poverty without Jesus.

On August 14th, six new people were received into La Paz BPC’s membership. The church also held a wonderful fellowship dinner in August. We praise God for those He is bringing into His church.
Please remember the Quisberts and all those working with the outreaches of the church, including AWANA, radio ministry, and feeding the homeless.

Handing out Gospel tracts has been a very effective method of witness about our Lord Jesus Christ in Bolivia, especially on the streets and markets of La Paz and El Alto. We stamp our church name and address on each tract. We also distribute them when we go to feed the homeless. Many of them who live in shelters receive the tracts with happiness. On June 21, the new year of Aymara, we handed out two thousands tracts in the Tiawanacu town to the local people and tourists who went to celebrate a new year. When we give out a tract, we must say that it is free. Many people smile and willingly take the gospel. The attitude of the evangelist is important. On March 2nd we participated in the anniversary program of El Alto, and on July 16, we celebrated the 202nd anniversary of La Paz. At the end of these official programs, we shook hands with the authorities of Bolivia and shared a colorful gospel tract with them. From January to July we handed out eleven thousand gospel tracts. Please keep us in your prayers. — Rev. David Quisbert

Our Awana program for children meets weekly on Saturdays from 3 – 5 PM; our kids enjoy meeting new friends, learning Bible lessons and playing games. Our attendance is approximately forty children each week. In our club we have four different sessions. Book time is a time of Bible memory work by ages. During counsel time the kids enjoy the Bible stories together as a large group. We prepare questions and prizes for them. Next, we have the game time. Finally, we serve snacks. Our kids enjoy all these activities. As missionaries we are developing them spiritually, intellectually, and physically. Please keep us in prayer that the Lord will provide helpers and all our needs. Every year we need to buy supplies for our children (memory books, vests, t-shirts, and award fees).
Understanding the need for Spanish speaking people to hear about Jesus, in June we started our Radio programming, “Pastoral Reflections,” once a week, Fridays at 9 – 11 PM (EDT time) through the Reformed Bible Broadcasting and the local Radio Station 105.7 FM. The streaming signal from the internet is broadcast live for the cities of La Paz and El Alto. If you know any Spanish speaking people, please invite them to join us at www.rbbradio.com.
We praise the Lord for our Prophecy Conference, “The End of the Times,” held at our Bible Presbyterian Church. Thirty-one persons attended this conference, and two women accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
We also had a Leadership Training Seminar for the Sunday School at the Redeemer Church of “El Alto” city. Thirty-five persons attended. We are producing manuals and guide books for our BPC Sunday school.
Please pray for the Zola family. Ivan Zola, a student of law at the University Major of St. Andrews in La Paz, went for his regular exam and never came back. His body was found on July 4th. Please pray for the family.

In Bolivia, Easter is a combination of “Semana Santa” or Holy Week which is Palm Sunday to Resurrection Sunday. This country has been influenced by the Roman Catholic Church. Easter is a huge religious holiday. “Semana Santa” is Bolivia’s second most important holiday season of the year after Christmas. For this reason we wanted to make a difference. We prepared a program to impact the people with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
On Sunday, April 17, we had our Palm Sunday celebration. Four blocks up from our sanctuary, in the corner of Republic Avenue and Quintanilla Zuazo, we had a small service singing, praying and reading the Bible. Then we returned to our sanctuary in a procession along the Republic Avenue. Our kids and church members were holding palms and singing Hosanna. I used my megaphone to testify about our Lord Jesus Christ in the streets.
On Tuesday, April 19, I preached a sermon to 320 students in the 9th grade. I was invited by my friend, Rev. Delfin Quispe, chaplain of the American Institute. (It’s a school in La Paz with four thousand students.) The sermon was on Christ’s prayer in Gethsemane. Most of the students are Roman Catholic. This religion teaches one to pray with the “Rosary” (“rezar”) and repeat a prayer over and over again. I taught the difference between “to pray” and “rezar,” and I taught the students how to pray. We finished with a wonderful time of prayer. Please keep these students in your prayers.
On Sunday, April 24, we testified of the resurrection of Jesus in a Sunrise Parade in the morning. We met with different churches at 5:30 AM in “San Francisco” square downtown in La Paz. We walked approximately 13 block singing hymns and repeating memory verses proclaiming that Jesus Christ is alive. Approximately 2,500 people attended the Sunrise Service at the gymnasium. I had the privilege to lead in a prayer for the country. Then we returned to our BPC sanctuary for a breakfast with our church members. In our BPC service we celebrated the Lord’s Supper. The resurrection Sunday happened 2,000 years ago, but we are here celebrating until He comes again with power and glory. Please pray for the Easter evangelistic opportunity in the streets and squares. We hope to join more people for this celebration next year. — Rev. David Quisbert

Heavy rains caused by the meteorological phenomenon, “La Niña,” have destroyed more than 1,200 homes in La Paz; 6,000 people have been left homeless. Our La Paz BPC and “Majesty” Christian Radio Station are working in solidarity. Once a week we are feeding 300 homeless people in the area, “Villa de las Flores.” So far, sixty-seven people have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. We are cooking food, collecting clothes, and giving gospel tracts to these people. Please pray for us. — Rev. David Quisbert. Bolivia

Dear Brothers in Christ:
“Sing unto the LORD; for He hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.” Isaiah 12:5
We can say that the Lord hath done wonderful things in our missionary field. Your faithful prayers have been a major help to us as we’ve worked in different areas of our ministry.
CHURCH PEWS
AND PIANO DONATION
In December we received a big surprise. The Canaan Korean Presbyterian Church of La Paz decided to donate 1 piano and 18 choir robes for our Church. (This church was closed because the members were moved to Santa Cruz city, Korea, and others returned to USA).
In January we praised the Lord because we received a generous donation from the Grace Bible Presbyterian Church of Cincinnati, Ohio — $1000 US for our church pews project. You can’t imagine how happy is our La Paz BPC. Praised be The Lord!
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
From January 17th – 22nd, we h
eld our VBS, entitled, “Marvelous Creation of God.” Our Bible memory verse was John 1: 1-3. We had an amazing week w ith 53 kids. On Wednesday six children and one mother accepted Jesus as their personal Savior. We gave to each one a New Testament. We are happy for this tool that helps us to share the Gospel with the kids. The lessons were exciting and easy. The crafts were creative. Every day we had good snacks. My wife Gloria and my twins, David and Prisila, worked hard. I am proud of their using their talents fo r God. This year fewer people of the church were involved in our VBS, but God was with us.
NEW CHURCH MEMBERS
The BPC of La Paz, Bolivia, celebrated the reception of David Quisbert Gallegos, Prisila Quisbert Gallegos, Joel Irusta
Aguilar, and Alfredo Zuazo Campos into full membership of our church on Sunday, February 20, 2011. Joel and Alfredo received the sacrament of the baptism. Then we celebrated the Lord’s Super. We thank the Lord for these four wonderful young people who were formed in our BPC. Please continue to pray for two other people that are taking the new member’s class.
FAMILIES VISITATION
In January and February we visited nine families of our church (Zuazos, Chambis, Huancas, Kelcas, Zolas, Ramirez, Irustas, Cuellars and Mattas). We encouraged them in the faith. We had days with rain, but the families have been happy with the visitation and the Bible study. We had a great experience with God’s Word. We sang many songs, played games and had snacks.
FEEDING THE HOMELESS
We started this year feeding the homeless in the area near to our church at the “Bus Terminal.” We provided for the homeless 150 cups of milk and bread. We also distributed some clothes. We shared the Gospel and distributed 200 tracts. Please pray for these people; may God change their lives for Jesus.
INTERNET MINISTRY: REFORMED BIBLE BROADCASTING
We are sharing the Good News to the lost of our world with our website and internet tools. Our Internet server reported in February that we had listeners in: United States, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Guatemala, Spain, Finland, Canada, France, Brazil, Philippines, United Kingdom, Taiwan, Bolivia, Mexico, Switzerland, China, Chile, Argentina Germany, India, Colombia, Nigeria, Dominican Republic, Korea, United Arab Emirates, Australia, Russian Federation, Iran, Japan, Romania, Peru, Ecuador, Malaysia, Belgium, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Ghana and Barbados. 24 hours, 7 days a week our English internet broadcasting is available on: www.rbbradio.com. Please continue to pray for this area of our ministry.
RAIN IN LA PAZ
The intense rains have destroyed more than 1200 homes in La Paz city. A fault stretching 250 to 300 acres triggered
the disaster in La Paz. 6000 people were left homeless. With three pastors, we went to the disaster area to take information. On March 3rd we returned to the area with food for 300 persons, clothes, and gospel tracts. Many people accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Our La Paz BPC is working in solidarity. Our plan is to return every week with more help. We are using the Majesty Radio station to ask the Christian people for help and solidarity. Please pray for us.

Prayer Requests
“For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing where to I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11
