Born to missionary parents in the country of Brazil, Elder Doug Leaman grew up in the Bible Presbyterian Church where his dad served as missionary and pastor for many years. After graduating from The Master’s College in 1995, Doug worked in Brazil for almost a decade, during which time he married Leah. They learned about the language, culture, customs, and people of Brazil while developing a heart for ministering to Brazilian people. After 500 years of Roman Catholicism, spiritism, a growing secularism, rampant political corruption, and an evangelical world that is inundated with the latest fads from around the world, Brazil is in need of the winds of the Reformation.
The Lord has now blessed Doug and Leah with a family of six young boys. Doug serves as an Elder in the Olympia BPC and is licensed in the Great Western Presbytery of the BPC. In addition to degrees in history and Bible, Doug has earned a Master of Divinity degree from Western Reformed Seminary and a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Counseling from The Master’s College. His desire is to teach in the areas of practical theology, biblical worldview, and biblical counseling. He plans to use various opportunities to preach the gospel as far and wide as the Lord will allow. The Leamans plan to work in conjunction with Reformed Brazilian Churches.
