It has been almost four years since Team Timothy came to Edmonton to help us with a Vacation Bible School. I still have many fond memories of the team’s time here, and the help they were to our little church. They gave us a terrific start to the outreach in our community.
Now I consider the words of Paul: Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Cor. 15:58). I am delighted to report that three and a half years after our Team Timothy project we have had one of the families return to our church, the Adeniyi family, who came to Canada from Nigeria several years ago. Although they did not attend our church immediately after our meetings, they came to visit us last year, and they have been an enthusiastic part of our congregation for a while. The really good news is that on Sunday, March 1, each of the members of the Adeniyi family made a public profession of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ before our congregation, and I baptized the four children. It was a very wonderful day in the history of our church. And by coming way up north to the city of Edmonton, the Lord made the Team Timothy members a key part of that process.
I hope this encourages us all in whatever we are doing for the Lord in these days. The Lord’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save, but we are often called to wait upon Him to display His mercies in His good time. Don’t be weary in well-doing.
I thank the Team Timothy members for coming here and for giving of themselves in the service of Christ to the children that attended our VBS. I love them all in the love of the Lord Jesus Christ, who first loved us. — Pastor John Dyck
