Team Timothy Northern California is busy getting ready for their August ministry supporting Trinity BPC in the Weed, California, area. The team will arrive in Weed on August 9th, and work through the 18th. It will be a busy week of evangelical outreach to an area that is as spiritually parched as it is physically parched.

The team is composed of Leah Dykstra, Cassy Emery, Kelsey Southerland, and Jan Southerland from Grace BPC in Sharonville, Ohio, and sisters Ellie and Chloe Sawaya from Tacoma BPC in Tacoma, Washington. Pastors Len Pine and Casey Southerland are the team leaders.

After a couple of days of orientation and team building work, the NorCal team will embark on an intense week of personal evangelism, neighborhood canvassing, tract distribution, and fellowship with the local church with the aim of being as great an encouragement as possible. One of the activities that is new for Team Timothy efforts this time is a morning park outreach that uses Bible stories and life lesson skits (written by team members) which children are invited to act out as team members narrate, followed by a gospel application to the children and their parents. Temperatures in the area are typically in the upper 80s and 90s in August, so the work will also be physically as well as spiritually challenging.

Funds for team members are still needed; each member must raise their own funds to travel and participate on the team. If you wish to support the team generally, or an individual team member in particular, please contact our office for details and for specific needs. The general cost to participate, which includes paying for all food, lodging, local transportation, materials, etc., is approximately $750 per person, not counting the travel costs to get to Weed and home again. Please help these folks help one of our newest BP churches reach their community with the gospel of Jesus Christ! Thank you.
