Dr. Arthur Steele, ordained minister in the Bible Presbyterian Church, was taken into the presence of the Lord at age 90 on March 2, 2011. After several years of Army service and working as a business man, Dr. Steele believed God was calling him into the ministry. So, at age 36, he became a seminarian at Faith Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, contemporary with students Ed Oliver and Timothy Tow.
The Steele name became part of the leadership of Faith Seminary, then of Shelton College. In 1966, he left New Jersey and set out to establish a Christian college in Florida. Today, Clearwater Christian College in the Tampa Bay area enrolls over 550 students. Dr. Steele was a faithful witness for Christ, speaking to everyone about the Lord. He was an enthusiastic part of Suncoast Bible Presbyterian Church in Palm Harbor, FL. I can not begin to tell you how much of an encouragement he was in the ministry in our church. Memorial donations may be made to the church’s building fund, 975 County Road 1, Palm Harbor, FL 34683. — Rev. Morris McDonald
