From February 7-17, Dr. Len Pine and Dr. Kevin Backus traveled to Kenya and Rwanda to revitalize PMU contacts with our brethren in Kenya, and establish new ties with an emerging group of churches in Rwanda. This latter group has asked for our assistance in formally organizing and preparing their leadership for self-sustaining church government. In the course and aftermath of the genocides of 1994 and 1996, existing churches in Rwanda became so politicized that they lost their effectiveness and testimony, and so this group of faithful men desire to affiliate with the Bible Presbyterian Church, General Synod.
