The Lord has been greatly blessing us in Myanmar. I cannot mention the Lord’s blessings one by one here, so I will mention only three among the many.
First of all, the Lord has enabled us to have another worship service every Wednesday night since the beginning of this year. Around 25 people attend this service. Sometimes people from other denominations participate in the service. The Wednesday night service is more like a house church service moving from house to house. Through this service we, as God’s family, are able to have closer relationships and fellowship in the Lord, and we are also able to focus on the specific needs of each family in prayer.
Secondly, we had our first session meeting on February 16 for the Yangon church. Seven elders, including Dr. Kevin Backus, participated in the meeting. We received missions reports from each of the mission stations such as Yangon, Inlay, Aungthapyi and Namhu. We praise the Lord for the way He has been guiding and blessing us. One of our main discussions was the need for us to become self supporting churches in the near future.
Finally, we ordained two elders (Soe Lwin and Yee Aung Tun) on February 20. Now the Lord has blessed the Yangon BP church with six ordained elders, including me. Among the six, three are serving the Lord as church planters in the Shan State and the other three remain in Yangon.
As we look back to the past, we cannot help but praise and thank the Lord for what He has done for us through your faithful partnership. We humbly acknowledge that we have come this far just because of the Lord’s grace and for His glory alone.
Thank you very much for your prayers and support for the missions works in Myanmar. We need your continuous prayer and support to carry on the works here. May the Lord bless you abundantly, as you have made many sacrifices for these ministries for the glory of God. — Rev. Kima
