On Sunday, August 12, 2012, the Suncoast Bible Presbyterian Church held their ground breaking ceremony to extend the present chapel to more than double its capacity. For many years the small congregation in Palm Harbor, FL, (Tampa area) has planned and saved for this event. Meeting in a modified home, the church desired to extend the chapel at the front of the building to reflect the appearance of a church structure. After much prayer and sacrifice, the congregation has saved enough funds to begin the process.
The dedication service was held immediately after the morning worship service upon the exact location of the new sanctuary. Dr. Morris McDonald, pastor of Suncoast BPC, led the group in thanking the Lord for this opportunity and dedicating this new building for God’s glory. We thank the Lord for His provision.
During the morning worship service, Dr. Len Pine of PMU preached on the challenges that would face the new congregation as they begin this expansion process. Little did he know that in less than three weeks one of the attending elders of the church would go home to glory, leaving the church without one of its leaders. Elder DeWarren Pope died unexpectedly on September 1. Please remember his widow, Nancy, in prayer, as well as the church.
Please pray for this congregation as they mourn the loss of their elder, as well as begin this expansion project. If you would like to send a word of encouragement to them, please write to:Suncoast Bible Presbyterian Church c/o Dr. Morris McDonald 975 County Road One Palm Harbor FL 34683
