Working for Christ in Bolivia

Posted on Mar 4, 2013

We are working to build two classrooms for our Sunday school and are also working on the facade of the La Paz BP Church. We have prepared the brick walls, and the ceiling will be installed in both rooms. Then stucco will be applied to the ceiling and the walls. We will also take out the big garage door at the entrance of the church.

We were thinking about stopping the work on the church because our Vacation Bible School would need the rooms for classes, but we didn’t stop the work. One of the workers continued working on the construction. We used one of the rooms for our VBS classes and kept all the construction materials in the other room. These months we are full of dust and dirt working on the church building.

We praise the Lord because He helped us to do this. Currently, we are working on the electric installation and ceiling. We hope in the near future to have a nice sanctuary. We praise the Lord for the results.

From January 21st – 26th we had our VBS; the theme this year was the “Wonderful Creation of God.” The teenagers worked with a book on the plan of salvation of our Lord. We prepared materials for the children. We started with 34 children; the last day in the park we had 68. This year we did two days of VBS in the small square of the “Uyustus” market.  We praise the Lord for 15 children who accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.  These children received a book and the Gospel of John.

Also we praise the Lord because a brother in Christ, Felipe Galvez from Santiago, Chile (Iglesia Presbiteriana Buenas Nuevas) came to help us. We distributed 600 gospel tracts in markets and “Pura Pura” park.

On Saturday, the 26th, we went to “Pura Pura” park, 30 minutes from our church. Paying the chilren’s way, we presented a devotional in the park. We sang and repeated our Bible memory verses, while amplifying the activity with our sound system. The people who were in the park listened to the gospel. We shared gospel tracts; it was a good experience.
