The Blessings of Unexpected Difficulties by Miss Michaela Sharpshair (Banner 3/19)

Posted on Mar 25, 2019

There is a lot in life that we don’t see coming; things we can’t expect; things that make life difficult. There are so many things we face that are completely out of our control; however, we can take confidence in the fact that God will use it all and teach us through it. Living in Uruguay has been difficult. I prepared for difficult, but sometimes there are certain types of difficult for which you just can’t prepare—things out of your control. But the difficult is good; it teaches you, strengthens you, stretches you, and grows you. All blessings that I wouldn’t trade to get rid of the difficult.

Although circumstances that are out of my control on the field have made it difficult to remain here in Uruguay, I am beyond thankful for all the Lord has taught me. In consulting with the OPC missionaries here and the PMU Council and home office, the Council has agreed that April (next month) would be a fine time to return with the blessing of all concerned. With a heavy heart and much accomplished, I will be coming home with a heart full of wonderful experiences.  The Lord has done great things through my experiences in Uruguay, and I am so thankful for all of your support. When I return home, I will be serving in my church as well as continuing my Spanish study for the Team Timothy trip to Peru in January, 2020. The Lord’s work is not over, and I am excited to see what He has in store. Thank you all for your continued prayers and support.
